Let me rename the folder
A visible label should not have to double as a permanent system identifier.
I get suspicious when a tool warns people not to rename a folder because an automation depends on it. The software has made one label do two jobs.
People rename things. "final-final-2" eventually becomes "September notes," if only out of embarrassment. A stable identifier can stay ugly and invisible underneath.
File paths are the awkward exception. Sometimes the name really is part of the address, which is fair. Before accepting the change, the tool should show which jobs point to that path and offer to update them. Letting the rename through, then waiting for the next scheduled run to fail, is a mean little surprise.
If the tool already knows the nightly export will break, that warning belongs beside the Rename button rather than in tomorrow's error log.
